Western Washington Medical Group offers Nutrition & Diabetes Education services to patients in person and via telehealth. We work with adult patients who have:
- Type 1 or type 2 diabetes
- Pre-diabetes
- Obesity
- Heart conditions
- High cholesterol
- GI conditions such as Crohn’s disease, celiac disease, or ulcerative colitis
as well as:
- athletes in need of sports nutrition guidance, and
- individuals looking for information and help transitioning to a vegetarian, vegan, or plant-based eating plan.
Diabetes Care
Our services for patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes include comprehensive patient education, nutrition guidance, blood sugar and medication management.
For the newly diagnosed or for those already living with diabetes, our Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Certified Diabetes Care & Education Specialist, Meghann Moore, is dedicated to helping patients understand their disease through personalized education and support. This includes:
- what is happening in the body with type 1 or 2 diabetes
- how to manage your condition, including monitoring blood sugars
- terminology – A1C, CGM, glucose measurements, and more
- medication management – CGMs, pumps, injections, insulin management, dose adjustments
- nutrition guidance and meal planning
- exercise recommendations
- foot care
- sick day management
- potential health complications and how to avoid them
Diabetes is not curable but can be effectively treated. The goal of diabetes care is to support patients in living long, productive lives.
Balancing medications with an eating plan designed specifically for you can greatly reduce any long-term health complications.
Nutrition Services
WWMG’s medical nutrition services include: nutrition counseling, nutrition therapy, dietary guidance, meal planning, behavior and lifestyle management.
Our nutrition services are designed to help adult patients who have pre-diabetes, diabetes, non-diabetes related obesity, GI conditions, heart issues, high cholesterol, athletes, or folks who want to make healthy changes in their diet and need expert guidance and support.
Our Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Meghann Moore, works closely with each patient to get a whole picture of who they are, their needs, and goals. She takes a partnership approach with each patient’s primary care provider to ensure continuity of care.
For patients experiencing obesity who are interested in pharmaceutical options, Meghann is well-versed in the GLP-1RA medications. She can discuss, explain and provide nutrition-related education and recommendations to patients for the use of these medications, as well as management of potential nutrition-related side effects.

Meghann Moore, RDN, CDCES, MPH is WWMG’s Diabetes & Nutrition Educator. She is a valuable resource to answer patient questions, provide expert education, clear up misconceptions, and correct misinformation about diabetes, obesity, health, and nutrition.
