Everett Family Medicine Takes the Ice Bucket Challenge

Originally published in September 2014

As a result of the Ice Bucket Challenge, the ALS Association received donations of $94.3 million this year, compared to $2.7 million last year for the same time period. The promotion worked.

People from all over the country, including celebrities, politicians, and just regular folks, are calling out others to take the challenge and donate to this worthy cause. Western Washington Medical Group is happy to participate because the ALS Association is the only national non-profit aggressively fighting Lou Gehrig’s disease and looking for a cure.

On August 26th, Everett Family Medicine rose to the occasion. It started with five empty buckets and ended with seven staff members (including our own Dr. Lindstrom) pouring ice water on their heads. There were lots of screams and giggles and eventually goose bumps, all good things for the ALS Association.
